I Want To Break Free
SSAB & piano
Every concert should have at least one song by Queen…but which one? There are so many great ones, but how about this one! I Want To Break Free is a classic, and immediately brings back visions of one of the best videos of all time.
The melody starts off with the Men (which they will love, and they have plenty of melody throughout the whole piece), and then it is passed to the Sop1’s. There is also a short piano solo in the middle which the choir harmonise quietly over. Although you could invite a budding Bryan May guitarist to take the solo..? I have written the chords into the music if you wanted to add a guitar throughout.
This is a fun arrangement written for SSAB + piano and is reasonably simple - certainly easy enough for an intermediate level choir.
