Composed by G Holst. Arranged by Philip Le Bas. 20th Century,Patriotic,Religious,Sacred. Octavo. 3 pages. Philip Le Bas #728668. Published by Philip Le Bas (A0.1128059).

An arrangement by Philip Le Bas of Gustav Holst's hymn setting of "I vow to thee, my country" ("Thaxted", with words by Sir Cecil Spring Rice.) It is scored for SATB choir and organ, with congregational participation split between men and women. This enables a more "joined up" and uplifting rendition of Holst's famous tune from "Jupiter" in his "Planets Suite" than the standard setting in most hymn books. The hymn's popularity is very evident for example by being sung both at Princess Diana's wedding and, poignantly, at her funeral.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
