This song began its life as a teaching tool for a songwriting instruction video. Shortly after composing the chorus, the Barbershop Harmony Society and the Nashville Songwriter's Association announced a COVID-19 Song Search. What I had written fit the criteria, so I wrote two verses and created this acapella/Barbershop arrangement. It was orginally written for SSAA voices, but works well for TTBB simply by setting it in a lower key. It was selected as one of the "winners" of the Song Search and was published by the Barbershop Harmony Society. It is in the style of an Easy Listening Pop Ballad with lots of syncopation in the melody to give it a natural, conversational feel. It's set during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020, looking forward to the day when we could all be together again.
