This was originally a hymn that I wrote for the congregation of Wausau Bible Church based on Romans 1:16, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone that believes..." I also wrote the lyrics in October the same year as the 500th anniversary of the reformation, which partially brought to mind the lyrics for the chorus, 

Only by grace, only through faith.
Only by Christ pleading for my case.
Only Your Word do I receive, 
Living for the gospel, I believe. 

Our choir director asked that I write a choir arrangement for our local church choir this year. I hope it can be a benefit to some others as well!
