Three stanzas of the Quaker Hymn, How Can I Keep from Singing'' by Robert Lowry, are set in a ballad-like style in triple meter. The keyboard accompaniment not only supports the voices but also paints pictures of the texts in imaginative ways. Voices part one sings the melody throughout. Voice part two is given descant and counter-melody material. Although scored for two-part voices and keyboard, the arrangement may be effectively performed by unison voices and keyboard with a treble instrument taking voice part two. [The anthem may be sung by younger voices in unison, or with younger voices singing melody and more experienced voices singing voice part two, or by an experiences choir or treble voices in two parts.] Optional accompaniment CGB265 with 4 or 5 octaves.
