Georg Philipp Telemann (14 March 1681 – 25 June 1767), a German Baroque composer, wrote some incredible and famous canons. This canon, initially a melody in a Violin Concerto, is set to a famous Palm Sunday text: Hosanna to the Son of David. This arrangement is set for Three Equal Voices A cappella. The text in this arrangement was designed to keep the integrity of Telemann's initial phrasing for the violin. Some phrases are on the challenging side, but none of which are impossible to sing. The only suggestion the arranger provides for voicing is that the middle voices sing Part I, lower voices on Part II, and higher voices on Part III. .
