The planet itself is often referred to as the “Red Planet” due to the reddish hue of its surface. Its two moons Phobos and Deimos, meaning panic and terror respectively, are named after the sons of Mars who would accompany him into battle. The movement is unrelenting and fierce, flaunting the ravaging power of war. Instrumentation 2 Piccolos 6 Flutes 3 Alto Flutes 2 Bass Flutes 1 Contrabass Flute Parts may be doubled with more players as necessary. The contrabass flute part may be omitted if needed.
