As the song progresses, and the Palm Sunday story gets darker, so does the music, eventually ending in the style of a funeral mass and offering a prelude to the events of the crucifixion. Joanna Mills is the Gospel Choir Director at Roncesvalles United Church in Toronto, Canada, and has been writing and arranging choral music for 15 years.
