Concert Band - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.965335

Composed by Israeli Folk Tune. Arranged by Colin P. Langille. Contemporary,Jewish,Sacred,World. Score and parts. 31 pages. Flying Baton Publications #3860059. Published by Flying Baton Publications (A0.965335).

An easy piece to play, but its use of ostinati and round build a complex texture with several nuance for the listener. The plodding rhythms evoke a sense of the same weary journey which biblical Jews would have felt climbing the steps to the Temple while reciting the words of this ancient folk song: Hashivenu, hashivenu Adonai elecha. Venashuva, venashuva. Hadesh, Hadesh yamenuke ke dem, which means: Turn us back, turn us back, O LORD to You and we will turn, and we will turn. Renew, renew our days as before (Lamentations 5:21)
