This facsimile of an original by Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre is part of our French classical music collection. Edition : Paris, l'Auteur, Foucault, Ribou, Ballard, 1707. Apart from their intrinsic musical value these pieces are doubly interesting. They provide an opportunity for violonists to practise discreetly doubling the right hand of the keyboard part. For harpsichordists they may be used as an exercise in unfigured continuo bass, leaving the right hand of the keyboard part entirely to the violin. Preface by: Catherine Cessac : the harpsicord pieces which can be played on the violin. Jean Saint-Arroman : notes on the ornamentation. Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers). He is the author of the majority of our prefaces and has also been involved in library searches.
Facsimile of a copy in the National Library of Paris (France). Anne Fuzeau Classique propose period copies of classical music scores.
