Ground Force was a British garden makeover television series originally broadcast by the BBC between 1997 and 2005.
The  upbeat opening and closing theme was composed by Jim Parker and performed by the Black Dyke Band. The theme reflects the busy activity involved in the projects. Over the main themes there are often short musical interjections at faster pace possibly denoting a burst of activity somewhere in the garden.
This arrangement for Wind Quintet requires a precisness of articulation and an awareness of musical balance between the parts. Although fairly quick there should be an underlying clamness to the piece. A great 'foot tapper' for your programme!
