While legend attributes the composition to King Henry VIII, this clasim is widely disputed by historians and musicologists. 6. The style of the music suggests it is more likely from the Elizabethan era rather than the earlier Tudor period. 7. The song's lyrics tell the story of a lover lamenting unrequited love. 8.
