Note sull’arrangiamento

• Violoncello 1: suona interamente in prima posizione, con l’introduzione dell’estensione alla mano larga per sviluppare agilità e controllo dell’intonazione;
• Violoncello 2: rimane in prima posizione, con movimenti semplici e lineari, adatti a chi ha da poco iniziato a leggere e suonare in ensemble;
• Violoncello 3: parte opzionale pensata per un maestro o un allievo più esperto, presenta passaggi in pizzicato in prima posizione, contribuendo al sostegno ritmico e armonico;

Notes on the Arrangement

This arrangement of Greensleeves, a well-known traditional English tune, has been created for a quartet of young cello students. The parts are designed to be accessible yet engaging, with carefully graded difficulties to suit the players’ levels:

• Cello 1: plays entirely in first position, with the addition of extended position to develop hand flexibility and intonation control;
• Cello 2: remains strictly in first position, with simple, linear passages ideal for students who are just beginning to play in an ensemble;
• Cello 3: an optional part, suitable for a teacher or a more advanced student, featuring pizzicato passages in first position, providing rhythmic and harmonic support;
• Cello 4: also optional, designed for beginners, using open strings and first and second fingers in first position, entirely in pizzicato.

The arrangement preserves the charm of the original melody and encourages collaboration within the group, making it ideal for recitals, group lessons, and early ensemble experiences.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters.
