By Booker T. and The MG's. By Booker T. Jones and Steve Cropper. Arranged by Jerry Lau. This edition: audio, pdf, streaming. Blues, Contemporary, Jazz. 10 pages. Jerry Lau #1212670. Published by Jerry Lau (A0.1645720).
This is a simple arrangement specifically for classroom music, aimed at junior students (year 6-8). It is suitable for small individual groups or a whole class ensemble. It is designed to cater for diverse abilities and the most common instruments (anything) within a classroom environment. The arrangement consists of the lead (melody) and accompaniment (harmony and rhythm) in its basic form much like a lead sheet but written out in parts. All parts are written in C, Bb, Eb and F, with drum part and optional guitar tab.
Once the students have learnt the parts, it is encouraged to model and teach them ways to manipulate the arrangement, creating their interpretations (e.g adding their own dynamics, articulation, changing the form, swapping parts on repeat, adding improvisation, etc).
This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
