As a HUGE John Mayer fan it was crucial to me to do one of his greatest songs of all time the justice it deserves in an a cappella/ choral arrangement. The arrangement is meant to serve as a great mix between contemporary Pentatonix styled pop, Eric Whitacre-esq dissonance and choral music (during what would be the guitar solo), and small elements of "jazzy" chords with tight 6-8 note chords. The SSATB arrangement is to accommodate those choirs that are more female dominate.
Although rather challenging in spots, this arrangement is meant for high school level choirs and above. The Soprano 1 range peaks only once at an A5 and Bass only as low as G2. The harmonic and rhythmic changes throughout the arrangement are the perfect combination of challenging for high school, collegiate, and community groups as well as exciting for the audience.
