It is intended as a mournful, soulful piece reflecting the intense emotions surrounding Christ's sufferings on the cross - not unlike Take My Mother Home or Jesus Walked That Lonesome Valley. In the hands of the right performers, capable of balancing reverence with showmanship, it has proven itself a very moving piece that audiences enjoy. It is suitable for performers of all ages. It would be appropriate for church services, Christian choral groups, as well as secular choirs open to exploring the synthesis between soulful music, heartfelt entertainment, and/or Easter.
