Originally sung by 'The Youngbloods', the classic Get Together was a hit in 1967. Originating in the 1960s 'free love' movement, it still feels relevant today, and has been covered several times since, most notably by jazz singer Lizz Wright. The lyrics identify two paths - one of love and one of fear - and offer that we should all 'get together and love one another right now'.
This gentle, healing TTBB arrangement is based on Lizz Wright's concept. It is a slow ballad, mostly in 4 parts, with some divisi into 8 parts to add harmonic color at times.
