Written for the Ridley Elementary School District bands, Theresa O'Brien, director, and the Temple University Night Owls Concert Band, Dr. Deborah Confredo, director. Galactic Guardians depicts star warriors as they take part in an interstellar mission. The mysterious opening portrays the initial reconnaissance, then quickly moves to the star fighters blasting off into battle. Driving rhythms depict the twists and turns of a space battle with wild percussive accents providing flashing laser blasts. The piece then closes with the festive sounds of celebration as victory is proclaimed.
