This traditional-style fugue for two French Horns is a perfect example of theme development and reconstruction. The main theme in the main movement of this two movement work is a reconstructed theme from a track from the hit video game series, MarioKart, but altered and developed in a way that fits the style. A pretty simple work for two Horns that functions great as a recital piece, with the added benefit of being able to utilize either movement independently from the other.
