Written as a special project to commemorate Beethoven's 250 birthday (in 2020), this exciting and complex piano duo is a "reaction" to Beethoven's string quartet "Grosse Fuge" and his piano duet that he wrote as a challenge for a piano version, both of which are "nearly impossible to play!"). The Program notes have a full description. This Fuga has many elements of the Beethoven, but they are used in different ways; and, it is contemporary, answering the challenge by some academic evaluations that it leads into the future! However, it still contains some Baroque and Classical elements interwoven among contemporary "madness." Be prepared for some unusual sounds, technique, and portrayal of this composer's birthday present to Beethoven!
