This aria is one of the best known and frequently performed vocal compositions, taken from "Secondo libro d’arie musicali" (Florence, 1630). The aria may be an invaluable addition to the repertoire of vocal teachers and students.

It is available in the key of G major (B3 – D5) for low voice.
