The cable car was destroyed in 1944 when Mount Vesuvius erupted. This is a famous Neopolitan song that was mistaken as a folk song and used by other composers such as Richard Strauss and Nikolai Rimsky Korsakov. This is a fun setting for this Italian celebration song. This arrangement features the trombone the first time through the melody and then passes the melody around between everyone the second time.
