This Duetto is an arrangement of the first of a set of three Duettos, originally for oboe & bassoon, for clarinet & bass clarinet. Composed between 1774 & 1777 in late classical - early romantic style, the Duettos were clearly intended for advanced performers. The movements, Allegro moderato - segue Adagio & Romance giocoso - Allegretto would have been performed by virtuoso players of the court.
