During a visit to Stuttgart, R. Winston Morris, professor of tuba and director of the Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble, learned of the existence of this “Feiertagsmusik (Festive Music), which was written in 1987 for Adolf Leppich and his class of Wagnertuben in Osnabrück. Winston Morris requested a copy for his tuba ensemble, which performed the piece during a concert tour of the United States, playing it in Canergie Hall in New York on April 2, 1990. The work is a tribute to Anton Bruckner, the great symphonic composer and magician of sound.
