FEAR NOT - DO NOT BE AFRAID is based on passages found throughout Scripture where God (or His Angel) implore His children to remain strong, have courage, and, above all - fear not: do not be afraid. In this composition, the choir and accompanist are encouraged to explore the variety of emotions that arise in fearful situations. The overall energy of the piece is dominated by its rhythmic intensity - an almost tribal feeling that begins in the brief introduction and continues throughout the piece. Care should be taken to find a tempo that is neither too fast, nor too slow, so that the vocal diction may be clearly articulated.

FEAR NOT - DO NOT BE AFRAID is the second in a trilogy of works set in a spiritual style for mixed choir. The first, RUN, CHILD, RUN was published by Alliance Music Publications in 2012.
