They also play a lively folk tune Kolomeike,кoлoмийкa, a very quick duple-time dance tune, with a variable scale, popular in Ukraine for weddings and other festive occasions, often led by a clarinet with soft reed and many smears. Your audience could be challenged to identify the "native land" revealed by this tune.
DURATION: 7 minutes.
INSTRUMENTATION: Eb clarinet, 5 Bb Clarinets, Alto, Bass, Contra-Alto, Contrabass. Necessary: Eb, Bb 1-4, Bass and either Alto or Bb 5.
