Composed by Mikhail Glinka. Arranged by Mike Eades. Classical. Brass Band. 62 pages. Mike Eades #3473137. Published by Mike Eades (A0.842366).

Probably the composer's most widely performed orchestral piece. The Overture opens with a driving rhythmic figure that augurs the rhythmic styles of Borodin, Rimsky-Korsakov, and so many other Russian composers from succeeding generations. This short excerpt is a great end of first half/opener for the second half concert item. Ideally played at 140bpm but sounds good at 110 upwards!
