From composer Jason Krug: "Escape Velocity was written in honor of the end of the NASA Space Shuttle program. It portrays a shuttle launch, from the sun rising over Cape Canaveral, through the launch and orbit of the shuttle, and finally to the fiery re-entry and landing back on Earth. Its contrasting moods and emotions should provide a challenge for your choir."
