Just about everything The King recorded live and in studio is covered in this and the preceeding volume, and that's the way he alchemised songs-from basic sheet music, engaging his musical and verbal expression from the most tenuous of musical directives.So playing through them twenty at a time, or focusing on one song, here's a great way to channel the spirit of Elvis.Pretty much keeping to three chords, the piano player would be limited if slavishly keeping to most arrangements here. The guitarist is better served, if able to read and improvise on the melodies. Depending on whether or not you want to impersonate Elvis (and after all, it's his version of Polk Salad Annie that makes the song come alive), this book can take away the burden of memorising a kingly version, and perhaps point you towards your own.....if that's what you want! If I Can Dream........
