In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sir Edward Elgar, I celebrate one of my favorite composers with this violin and piano transcription of the ninth (the best known and most loved) variation, "Nimrod," from his orchestral work, ENIGMA VARIATIONS. In the opening bars, Elgar suggests the slow movement of Beethoven's Pathetique sonata. Download includes part and score.
