Inspired by Toru Takemitsu and Leo Brouwer, Eight Octatonic Studies features eight short pieces for classical or electric guitar. Each study explores the expressive potential of a single octatonic collection (also referred to as an octatonic scale or diminished scale). Explore ostinato patterns, counterpoint and imitation, seventh chords, implied tonality and intervallic relationships in an octatonic context. Includes sheet music score with tablature and some fingering suggestions plus guitar part with tab for each study.
