First written for the multi-style singer-songwriter, the "High Priestess of Soul," Nina Simone for her 1964 album Broadway-Blues-Ballads, Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood has been covered by many artists, including Joe Cocker, Lana del Rey, Eric Burdon, Moody Blues, and Lady Gaga! It was also used in the Netflix Thriller "Stay Close," produced by Harlan Coben, sung by Eliza Shaddad.
