Composed in 2023, commissioned by Yumi Terada Percussion Ensemble "Drive", this premiered on the CD recording "Drive V".
No instrument is specified for this piece. Many percussion ensembles express changes in tone and resonance through full use of various types of instruments, but in this piece, I would like the audience to focus on and enjoy the rhythm and interaction between the instruments. Percussion has a wide range of expressive potential, and its versatility and freedom are part of that appeal. For this recording, Conga and Bongo were combined as examples, but it is also possible to use kitchen utensils, buckets, and other familiar objects.
I hope this piece, a kind of flexible ensemble, can be used not only for concerts or contests, but also in situations with unique ideas of performance and instrument use.
