Die Weihnachtsgeschichte by Arnold Melchior Brunckhorst is characterized by a lively style reminiscent of Buxtehude. Little is known about the North German Baroque composer Arnold Melchior Brunckhorst, except that he served as the city organist in Celle from 1697 until his death in 1725. However his few surviving works bear witness to an extraordinary musicality.
