This brilliant arrangement for ten-part brass choir captures the excitement of the composer’s orchestral showpiece "Danse Nègre from his African Suite". Born of an African father, Coleridge-Taylor, was an early 20th century English composer, conductor, and influential advocate for Black composers. The arrangement is scored for 3 B-flat trumpets (trumpet 1 doubles on B-flat piccolo trumpet, trumpets 2 and 3 double on flugelhorn), 2 horns, 3 trombones (2 tenor & 1 bass), euphonium, tuba. The recording is of the entire edition.
