An energetic tip of the hat to one of my all-time favorite arranges, Bill Holman. A sort of Roman a Clef of "Camptown Races" with lots of linear interest as well as a screaming shout chorus that recurs with variations several times. The intro features some "out" voicings accompanied by some New Orleans "second line" drumming, lots of solo space and a great showcase for the drummer at the finish. Lead tpt to high F. 5,4,4,P,B,D.
