DAHABIYA
SA/2-Part Mixed Voices

This fun, rhythmic Egyptian-style song is about a dahibiya, which is a shallow-bottomed passenger boat
used for touring the River Nile in Egypt. Resembling a barge, a dahabiyah has two or more sails that are powered by the wind. These ancient boats have been recreated today and are used for river cruises that sail the Nile between Luxor and Aswan.

Excellet for upper elementary and middle school students.
Rhythmic, lively accompaniment
Great for introducing intervals of 5ths.
Finger cymbals, shekere, and a gong may be used
Instrument cues on score
Chord symbols included for additional instruments

Piano Accompaniment track available on this site.
