Edward MacDowell was a very celebrated American composer and pianist who lived in the Romantic period. He also used the pseudonym Edgar Thron. Cradle Song is a beautiful piece that MacDowell wrote at about the time his wife suffered an illness that resulted in her being unable to bear children. This piece is quite beautiful, and would be a good filler for your recitals - a piece to play in between the difficult & showy ones.
