From the same set that includes the famous "Christmas Concerto" this is another lovely and very typical Baroque Concerto Grosso that is always fun for a quartet to play. What makes this one stand out is a showpiece 2nd movement for the quartet's cellist! Not crazily hard but nice for the bass part to have a chance to shine - not always the case in music of this period. All the parts has been carefully edited and laid out to allow for sensible and pracitcal page turns and clear music setting. Useful for a quartet that wants some extra Baroque repertoire without relying on all the usual and predicatable "standards".
