By David Popper. By David Popper. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. 63 pages. Paladino Editions #873321. Published by Paladino Editions (A0.1281968).

This edition by conductor Tecwyn Evans and cellist Martin Rummel, who together recorded this work for Naxos, presents the first modern score of David Popper’s first cello concerto, written during his time at the Löwenberg Court. While the solo part is a classic example of the 19th century virtuoso concerto genre, the accompaniment is much more sophisticated and colorful than that of some other similar works.

Performance material is available for hire.

Orchestration: 2-2-2-2 - 2-0-3-0 - timp - vc solo - str.
