SATB choir divisi, oboe or flute, percussion, cello/bass instrument, with optional piano or organ - Intermediate

SKU: MN.50-0047

Composed by Mark Shepperd. Catholic Year A Advent1; Year A Advent1. Advent, 21st Century. Choral score. MorningStar Music Publishers #50-0047. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers (MN.50-0047).

UPC: 688670500473.

Based on the hymn tune Jefferson, this arrangement can be done with organ alone, but is greatly enhanced by using either flute or oboe (not both), cello, and percussion. The multiple divisi basically applies to drones and sustained chords, so this would not preclude doing it with a smaller choir. The setting effectively evokes mystery and longing.
