This score is an arrangement for piano solo. It contains suggestions for performing the trills and appoggiaturas in accordance with the performance practice of the Baroque period. In particular, trills should be played ON the beat, starting on the upper auxiliary note, and appoggiaturas are also played ON the beat, very rapidly. Note that the dotted quarter note in measure 1 (and similar measures) should be played as if it were doubly dotted, in order to make the short notes of the melody uniformly sixteenth notes.
