This is a wind ensemble transcription of Jeanine Rueff's work for alto saxophone and piano, "Chanson et Passepied." This is a very accessible and short work for young but promising classical alto saxophonists, and can be easily put together by most high school bands. The piece starts with a slow and lyrical "song" section before finishing with a brisk section in 3/8.
