Based on a modified Brazilian Maracatu 3/4 rhythm, Chacagliatu is a sometimes harmonically tense, groove oriented piece. With an optional female vocal part to add an extra color, it makes use of the various alternative colors available in the big band. Solos for soprano sax (if no vocal), trumpet 2, trombone 1.
