This facsimile of an original by Serguei Ivanovitch Tanei ev is part of our Dominantes collection. Edition: Composition: c. 1883. Presentation by Valeriy Berezin: Serguei Tanei ev and his canzona for clarinet and strings - woodwind instruments in Russia - the history of its creation and performance - sources and publications - Taneiev's performances. This very beautiful work is reproduced in two versions, one with piano, the other with string quintet (or orchestra). The excellent graphic quality enables easy reading. The pencil annotations, very probably dating from the composer's lifetime, have been retained. The preface is by the remarkable musician and musicologist, Valeriy Berezin, professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Collection supervised by the musicologist Jean Saint-Arroman, professor at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse of Paris and at the CEFEDEM Ile de France (Training Centre for Music Teachers). He is the author of the majority of our prefaces and has also been involved in library searches.
