Contemporary tonal and modal setting in G for SATB chorus and organ of the traditional canticles, based on the ancient "tonus peregrinus" and two archetypal pentatonic scales. Each of the canticles is treated in various textures, homophonic and polyphonic, with corresponding themes and mirroring sections that are contributing to the unity of the composition, and is framed by a meditative organ prelude, interlude and postlude, respectively.
