This is an arrangement of the Bourée from the fifth French suite for keyboard by J. S. Bach. The treble and bass lines have been separated to be played by flute and bassoon, though violin and cello could play it just as well. I've linked a you tube recording by Murray Perahia playing the Bourée on the piano. His tempo is fast and he freely improvises and adds ornaments as was the performance norm of Bach's time. You don't have to play in the stage band in order to improvise! This could be played at a more moderate tempo by instrumentalists, and ornaments and improvisation could be added as desired.
