Originally thought to have been composed by Johann Sebastian Bach, a recent discovery reveals that this song is from an opera by Gottfried Heinrich Stölzel (1690-1749). This aria became very popular, which is why Bach's second wife Anna Magdalena, a fine soprano herself, copied it into her music notebook. There is another Instrumental Edition in C Major as well as five editions for voice including the Medium-Low Voice edition which is also in Bb major.
