Composed by Hector Fiocco. Arranged by Phil Lawrence. Baroque,Concert. Score and parts. 10 pages. Phillip Lawrence #5308369. Published by Phillip Lawrence (A0.883788).First recorded by my teacher Alan Stringer to which this arrangement is dedicated to, accompanied by the organist of the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral Noel Rawsthorn recording it in 1974 under the CRD label. The album repertoire mostly chosen by Alan was from the trumpet repertoire itself Noel suggested that this wonderful late baroque organ moment by Fiocco would suite the instrument well and also make a good contrast to the album.
Some years later in 1986, I managed to use the piece with Noel Rawsthorn’s pupil and now organist of the Anglican, Ian Tracy in a recital in the Lady Chapel in the Anglican. I played from the top line organ part and Ian in a true baroque style filled out the rest from a meager bass line. So I now present it in full and with a choice of trumpets for the ubiquitous trumpet and organ recital, for piccolo A, picc G, tpt in Eb and tpt in D parts included.
