Big band with vocal - Medium Easy

SKU: JL.LL-2185

By Julie London. Edited by Myles Collins. Arranged by Felix Slatkin. Jazz Vocal. Swing/Beguine; Jazz. Score and parts. Published by Lush Life (JL.LL-2185).

Transcribed from Julie London's 1961 Liberty Records album "Whatever Julie Wants", this is a very cool chart that switches effortlessly between swing and beguine feels. Overall the chart is relaxed, breezy and nicely laid-back. The vocal part is scored as-sung by Julie London and the subtle background piano licks have been transcribed that help give the chart its unique flavor. The original string lines have been re-scored into the band, whilst maintaining the integrity of the original concept. There are no sax doubles and the vocal key is C throughout.

Ranges: Trumpets 1-4: D6, C#6, G#5, G5; Trombones 1-4: B4, Ab4, F4, F4; Vocal key: C; Vocal Range: F3 - Db5 (13 steps as sung).
